As a performer, Peter has won many awards (Best Actor 2015) and commendations in the Life! Theatre Awards organized by Singapore’s national newspaper, The Straits Times.

Internationally, Peter has represented Singapore in many overseas festival performances to Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan, India, Hungary and Romania.

In total, he has performed in 59 theatre productions; some of which are highlighted in ‘Videos’ on this website.

Most challenging roles thus far:

In 2012, Peter wrote, directed and performed his solo work, Tell Me When to Laugh and When to Cry, a one-man theatrical piece which examines the relationship between art and life, actor and character, as well as reflect upon the state of state control and repression in Singapore. It was a rare piece of Singaporean work which united 6 of his previous stage personas as well as the voices of 6 of the best theatre directors in Singapore – Kok Heng Leun, Ivan Heng, Natalie Hennedige, Casey Lim, Li Xie and Gani Karim. The performance staged at the national theatre venue, The Esplanade, received rave reviews both online and on newspapers.

In 2015, he created and performed in Sinking Flesh Thinking Flesh, a rumination about human bodies from various marginalized communities in Singapore; an evocative amalgamation of 3 characters from 3 plays written by Singapore’s Cultural Medallion recipients, Kuo Pao Kun and Haresh Sharma.  A eunuch; a man with dementia; a HIV positive man.
